The SERPPAS "Good Map"

The sharing of spatial data across state boundaries was an early focus of SERPPAS. This regional approach to GIS resources and the generation of “seamless” datasets were early requirements for the partnership. The “good map” is a major factor in the calculus to the success of the partnership.

Conservation Fund GIS Mapping Service

Conservation Map Thumbnail

The good map service was initially piloted by The Conservation Fund and has all the original interactive mapping service with mapping layers including military airspace, ecoregions, and endangered species habitats. It is a password protected site available to SERPPAS users. Please register for a username if you would like to become a SERPPAS member.

America's Longleaf Mapping Service

Map Thumbnail

Work through America’s Longleaf Restoration Initiative has produced a newer map focusing on the potential range of longleaf habitat and potential climate change impacts on the southeast region, which is hosted on this website. The interactive map contains the location of conservation projects, potential longleaf pine habitat, and future climate change impacts in the region. This mapping service does require users to have Silverlight on their computers, which can be downloaded via the link below, but is not password protected.

Other Geospatial Resources

The USGS Seamless Data Warehouse
The Seamless Data Warehouse is the ideal location to explore and retrieve data. U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) are committed to providing access to geospatial data through The National Map.
USGS EROS Hazards Data Distribution System (HDDS)
Welcome to the USGS EROS Hazards Data Distribution System (HDDS). Data access and delivery services are provided by the following interfaces that take into consideration users' network capability. Users are able to obtain full-resolution GeoTIFF images or JPEG images at medium and low quality compressions.
The USGS National Elevation Dataset (NED)
The National Elevation Dataset (NED) is the primary elevation data product of the USGS. The NED is a seamless dataset with the best available raster elevation data of the conterminous United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and territorial islands. The NED is updated on a nominal two month cycle to integrate newly available, improved elevation source data. All NED data are public domain.
The USGS Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) Viewer
Light Detection and Ranging Viewer: This lidar point cloud data is provided 'As Is', with varying processing and accuracy. This data is provided for non-mapping applications. Query fields for possible added information. Use point cloud data at your own risk.
The USGS National Hydrography Dataset (NHD)
The National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) is stored in a geodatabase implementation of the NHD model. This provides great flexibility and efficiency to allow the data to work well in analysis using a geographic information system (GIS).
The National Geospatial Program (NGP) Map Viewer
Managed by the National Geospatial Program (NGP), The National Map Viewer provides data visualization and download of all eight The National Map Data sets and US Topo products.
The Northern Gulf of Mexico (NGOM) Task 4 Viewer
The goal of Task 4 of the Northern Gulf of Mexico (NGOM) Ecosystem Change and Hazard Susceptibility project is to provide a regional synthesis of present day NGOM coastal ecosystem and human community structure and vulnerability, and forecast the evolution of this landscape over the next century given ongoing natural processes, anthropogenic effects, and alternate redevelopment policies.
The USGS National Digital Orthophoto Programs (NDOP) Database
The National Digital Orthophoto Programs (NDOP) was chartered in 1993 as a consortium of Federal agencies with the purpose of developing and maintaining national orthoimagery coverage in the public domain by establishing partnerships with Federal, State, local, tribal, and private organizations.
The National Digital Elevation Program (NDEP) Database
The National Digital Elevation Program (NDEP) was established to promote the exchange of accurate digital land elevation data among government, private, and non-profit sectors and the academic community and to establish standards and guidance that will benefit all users.
The USNG National Implementation Center (TUNIC) at Delta State University Database
Welcome to the US National Grid website at Delta State University: USNG grid datasets are produced by Delta State's Center for Interdisciplinary Geospatial Information Technologies in partnership with the US Geological Survey under cooperative agreement number 07ERAG0083. The purpose of this website is to share lessons learned, provide educational materials, and promote professional discussion about the application of USNG in emergency and disaster management.
The Critical Lands and Waters Identification Project (CLIP) Map Viewer
The Critical Lands and Waters Identification Project. CLIP is a GIS database of statewide conservation priorities for a broad range of natural resources, including biodiversity, landscape function, surface water, groundwater, and marine resources.
The Florida Division of Emergency Management GIS Database
The Florida Division of Emergency Management manages several GIS database services all listed at this site. For more information, contact Richard Butgereit at richard.butgereit@em.myflorida.com

National Geospatial Program Partnerships

The National Geospatial Program partnership network cultivates and maintains long-term relationships with partners and develops agreements for The National Map, Geospatial One Stop, National Atlas and other initiatives that advance the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) and support USGS science. Partnerships are the foundation of the National Geospatial Program because they leverage funding across organizations to provide significant cost savings, reduce redundancy in geospatial data acquisition and stewardship, and ensure availability of common base data to a broad range of users and applications.
