The Southeast Regional Partnership for Planning and Sustainability (SERPPAS) hosted a Prescribed Fire Workshop on October 26-27, 2017, at the Weymouth Woods – Sandhills Nature Preserve in Southern Pines, North Carolina. The purpose of the workshop was to update the goals and activities in the 2012 SERPPAS Comprehensive Prescribed Fire Strategy, and to identify priority prescribed fire actions or projects which the natural resource community should collaboratively work to address in the Southern region. The participants consisted of members of the SERPPAS Prescribed Fire Work Group, which represents fire practitioners and experts from State, Federal, Military agencies, NGOs, landowner groups and other regional longleaf and fire partnerships.
