Chris Lewis received his B.S. in Wildlife Science from Auburn University in 1997 and began his career with the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division in 1998 as a Conservation Enforcement Officer. During his tenure, he advanced through the ranks, ultimately serving as an Assistant Chief within the Law Enforcement Section.  In November 2019, Chris accepted the position of Colonel for the Connecticut Environmental Conservation Police Division, where he served until returning to Alabama as the Director of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries in November of 2025.

He is a 2016 graduate of the National Conservation Law Enforcement Leadership Academy and, in 2025, completed the FBI-LEEDA Executive Leadership Institute program.
