Kyle Briggs

Kyle Briggs is the Executive Director of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (WRC). He oversees a statewide agency of fourteen divisions and offices, approximately 700 permanent employees, including biologists, law enforcement officers, engineers, foresters, educators, and administrative support staff. Agency operations include maintenance of more than 2 million acres of public lands for hunting, fishing and other outdoor recreation; operation of six fish hatcheries for stocking public waters; maintenance of nine shooting ranges; providing hundreds of free boating access areas and publicly accessible places to fish on more than 100 different bodies of water; and offering free hunter education and recreational boating safety courses. Prior to his appointment as Executive Director, he spent 9 years as the Chief Deputy Director, a year as Land and Water Access Division Chief, and 20 years in the Division of Inland Fisheries.
Kyle is a native of North Carolina and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Science from NC State University. An outdoor enthusiast, he currently resides in Raleigh, NC with his wife, Allison, and they have two children, Kayleigh and Noah, both of whom are in college.
